About Our School

Our Mission

The mission of the Science and Technology Academy at Knights Landing (Sci-Tech KL) is to inspire learning, curiosity, and problem-solving with a focus on science and technology to produce students prepared to lead and contribute in the ever-changing 21st century world.

Sci-Tech KL is Built on 4 Cornerstones:
  • The use of science curriculum to drive teaching and learning of all other core areas;
  • The use of inquiry-based instruction to foster curiosity and develop problem solving skills;
  • The infusion of technology into the students’ everyday learning experiences; and
  • The development of strong community partnerships that connect Sci-Tech’s students to high school and college students, and adults throughout the community.

Enrollment Resources

We will be accepting enrollment applications for the 2021-22 school year starting on December 1,  2020. Students currently enrolled do not need to reapply. Students currently on our waiting list do need to reapply. Sci-Tech will be having a virtual  (via zoom!) Open House on Thursday, December 3, 2020 times to be determind. Any families interested in applying for the 2021-22 school year are welcome to come to the virtual open house.

Acceptance letters will be mailed by February 2021. If spaces are still available, there will be another enrollment period in March.

Charter Petition Renewal

On February 27, 2020,  the Board of Trustees of the Woodland Joint Unified School District approved our school petition renewal. It was then moved on to the State Board and was approved.

Do I have to live in Knights Landing to attend Sci-Tech?

No. Students from outside Knights Landing, and even outside the district, are welcome and will be accepted on a space available basis.
